LINKIN PARK's SHINODA Responds To DEFTONES Singer's 'Trash-Talking'
June 20, 2003Greg Roche of Washington D.C. radio station DC101 spoke to LINKIN PARK vocalist Mike Shinoda Thursday night (June 19) about DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno's less-than-complimentary comments about LINKIN PARK and fellow Summer Sanitarium touring mates LIMP BIZKIT and METALLICA.
Speaking to Revolver magazine for a recent cover story, Chino said he felt awkward about playing under LINKIN PARK and LIMP BIZKIT on METALLICA's Summer Sanitarium Tour, stating, "A big problem for me is opening up for LIMP BIZKIT and LINKIN PARK, two bands that wouldn't exist if it weren't for me, straight up!"
Asked for his opinion on Chino's comments, Shinoda said, "Those guys [DEFTONES], they definitely… Chino likes to talk some trash… And, I mean, bring it. Talk all the trash you want. We wanna go out there and let people talk trash and let people be competitive and give the fans a good show. I mean, I don't care what they say. Be competitive. I don't care. We're coming out there with our 'A' game." Download MP3 of Shinoda's response at this location (805 KB).
